Could there be some truth to the book, "The Secret?"
Does it REALLY work - that law of attraction stuff?
In a simple statement - Yes.
But I advise a side of caution because "The Secret" in and of itself is New Age.
I like to test the sources to make sure what I am reading/hearing/discussing comes from God and the principles of the Bible - this clearly does not.
The Secret tells us to "be thankful to the Universe."
uhh, no. Be thankful to God!
That is where it lost me. However, the principles are correct. The Secret tries to flip it and make it about the Universe instead of the CREATOR of the Universe. Big no no.
What do I like about it?
The principles as I said. Matter of fact, I give you this example from Jesus. Now, before I jump into that, consider that Jesus has OFTEN and quite repetitiously told us to ask for anything and believe - you shall receive."
This isnt some "secret" - its been around for 2,000 years folks. The problem is we needed some shining new author to tell us "Hey, this is the secret to getting what you want" where if you just opened up a Bible and believed you would have been ahead of the game...and not lied to by Satan.
Mark 11:23
"23 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and [a]does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will]."
Well, well, well! Jesus said it first. Numerous times. It isn't a secret that is being thrown around and given credit.
How its suppose to work is to GIVE GOD the Glory - thats why these types of things are answered in the first place. (Again, Jesus' words, not mine!)
