Happy Flag Day

Did you even know there was a "Flag Day"?

Come on were you seriously aware?

If you truly think about it, this day should be celebrated just as much as any other National Holiday. I feel that way anyways - not because it is a day off, but to remember "Old Glory." To have a sense of pride for her! To remember what she has been through ever since the beginning. For 250+ years, she has waved with pride. Her beautiful RED, WHITE, and BLUE sailing in the wind.

Old Glory has seen it all. It was fought for during the Revolutionary War where Francis Scott Key penned an amazing tribute to her and her beloved country. Was fought and protected for during the Civil War - right on down the line to just recently.

Wait, just recently?

Yes, perhaps some of you have seen the news reports of Old Glory being burned in the streets? All to protest a Presidential candidate?

As an American it saddened me to see such disrespect for such an incredible emblem of our freedom and sovereignty. Though you have the right to protest - you should have left Old Glory out of it. Too many lives have been lost for her.

I have heard the argument that they just "don't care."

Well, I don't care if you decided to leave the country, either. What I do care about is that, what is left of America, is still free. We are still here. The hope is still alive that we can band together, once again, to turn this nation around.

Oh what an amazing sight that would be! 80 years old looking back at the hard years and seeing such change, innovation, and the American people banding together to re-establish herself! What a moment of pride for Old Glory that day will be.

So to you, Old Glory - may you FOREVER wave!
