I could never fully understand how there are other books and beliefs out there that simply copy the message of Jesus and how faith works?

I have a hard time with why the world will accept a message that is EXTREMELY identical to what the Bible says, but completely rejects God as a story? I know Atheists that have bought into the "law of attraction" teachings - new age teachings - but really, what they are believing is the same thing God tells us to believe - only believe in the universe...not the creator?
